Frequently Asked Questions

Once the animal leaves our premises, it is up to the buyer to continue with the recommended care and housing that we strongly encourage. Due to the unpredictable nature of animal health and behavior—especially during and after transport—The Loft Farm cannot guarantee ongoing health, temperament, reproductive capability, or the future performance of any animal once it leaves our care.

Buyers are responsible for ensuring appropriate transport, housing, nutrition, and veterinary care for their animals. By purchasing livestock from The Loft Farm, buyers accept all risks and responsibilities associated with animal ownership. We strongly encourage buyers to consult reputable sources and experienced professionals regarding the care and management of the species they intend to purchase.

Please understand that The Loft Farm is not liable for any illness, injury, loss, or death that may occur after animals leave our premises. Please reference our “Live Stock Sales Disclaimer”.

Will all fertile eggs hatch?

Although eggs are fertile, there is no guarantee of a successful hatch. Many factors come into play that will prevent a successful hatching such as incubation conditions, humidity levels during incubation, how frequently eggs are turned along with possible embryo development issues, such as deformities or improper development that can lead to death inside the egg.

How long does it take for fertile eggs to hatch?

Chicken eggs typically hatch in 21-23 days, duck eggs 28-30 days and Guinea Fowl Eggs typically take 16 to 28 days. We encourage you to allow an extra 2 days from the time frame as sometimes the eggs need an extra day or two.
